Update News Report Information:
This section is used for updating your previously filed news report at www.ChurchNews.com. After you have filed your news report, you can update the information in the report at any time.
The "account name" for your news report was given to you at the time you filed the report. It consists of the first and last name of the "news report contact" (i.e., the full name of the person filing the report), followed by a dash and number. It is important that you enter your account name exactly as it was listed when you originally filed the report. For example, if the person originally filing the report was named "John Doe", then their account name would look something like "johndoe-23", where the number "23" uniquely identifies the report.
NOTE: Changing E-Mail Addresses
If you are changing the E-Mail address for the news report contact, it is important to submit your report update before your E-Mail address on record becomes inactive.
The E-Mail address on record is the one currently in our database, and initially is the E-Mail address used to file the report. We send a message via E-Mail to the E-Mail address on record, notifying the registered user that an update to the news report has been made. This E-Mail message must then be returned, to verify the request to update the report. This is a security check. It prevents others from updating your report without your permission. If you have changed E-Mail addresses without updating your account first, it will be necessary to verify your account in other ways (phone, regular postal mail, etc.).
PLAN AHEAD when changing E-Mail addresses to avoid delays
