Welcome to our Christian news service. The purpose of this service is twofold: first, to bring together the body of Christ by promoting fellowship among churches; and second, to keep the body informed of news and current events of interest to the church. To accomplish this, we are publishing news and advertising Christian events - entertainment, church bake sales, guest pastors...anything of interest to the Christian community. This is your place to let the world know what is going on in your church, ministry, entertainment career, or praise and worship ministry!

This is a new site - Praise God! And so, we are under heavy construction. Please forgive us for our occasional broken links. It has been a blessing building this site, and I pray it will be a blessing to every soul that comes by to visit.

Example News Reports:

The reports, with data matching your search request, are collected into a series of webpages, with ten report summaries per page. To get a detailed view of the report, just click the "view details now!!" link near the top right of each report. This will load a much more detailed version of the report to your browser. After viewing the detailed version, you can click the backarrow of your browser to return to the report summaries.

An example is given below to illustrate a news search at ChurchNews. A user begins by filling out a news request, selecting cities of interest, date range, and other items of interest (e.g., missionary field). After the user enters the request (possibly using the quickform), the report comes back as a series of webpages (report summaries) linked together, allowing you to review the summaries and retrieve details as needed.

In the current example, a user selected the city of Seattle, area code 206, and left everything else blank. The report begins with a summary of the user selections, followed by the collection of news reports matching the search request. In this example there is one report summary, followed by an example detail report:

Detailed Description:

This section describes the use of our ChurchNews search engine. To find news and events of interest, you can search for news reports in your location (e.g., city), and refine your search with time windows, categories of interest, and keywords. These user preferences (like time windows) are used to filter the news reports on the website, and return just those reports matching your interests. The search fields are highlighted below with a blue background, and the meanings are fairly obvious, so once you understand the search engine, you can use our Quick Browse Form :

To search for events, fill out the form below, selecting your news report preferences, and then click the "Search" button.

Select the Telephone area codes for your region of interest to narrow the search. You may select up to three different area codes for your search. To search all area codes, leave all three text boxes blank.

In this section, you can further narrow your search by searching for reports with specific keywords. For example, enter "Baseball", "Presbyterian", or "Fund Raisers", to restrict your search to reports containing these keywords. When entering keywords like "Baseball", do not include the quotes around the keyword. These search keys are entered by the organization/entertainer when they register their events with our service. You may enter a maximum of 3 keywords. Separate multiple keywords by commas. Only reports containing your keywords will be listed, so try your search WITHOUT specifying keywords for the initial search. If the initial search returns too many hits, then try using keywords to narrow the search.

The location field allows you to specify a City and State for the search. If you are interested in any location, leave the City field blank, and the State field set to "ALL".

This section is used to narrow your search to a selected date window. In the text boxes below, specify the earliest date of interest in the "Starting Date" fields, and the latest date of interest in the "Ending Date" fields.

Periodic Events:

Some events are periodic in nature. Examples of periodic events are listed below:
The search engine will list all periodic events on a specific day of the week, as long as you select the weekday as part of the search. For example, an event that takes place "Every Other Wednesday" can be found by selecting the "Wed" check box (for Wednesday).

Submit Your Search:

The last step, after filling out your search request form, is to click the submit button. This sends your requested search data to the news search engine, where we build a collection of reports for you to browse. Once you are familiar with the process, try our "Quick Browse" form, (i.e., skip the long descriptions - just fill out a short form).
